I've watched Fred's videos for years. He's like an internet celebrity. Love his stuff but a video clip he did with him singing this song and the video of his "Ganga" character cracked me up.

I Don't Want Your Weed by Fredryk Phox

I don't want your weed
Too many stems and seeds
Take it back and give me my money
Before I rec-og-nize on your ass...
Punk
I will bring my gat
You can mark me on that
No cuttin' slack
with a jack in a flack
flung over your back
selling crack to pay off your funny act
with a jacked up Cadillac.

So Britney Spears is going to have a girl...

This kid would have a better chance being raised by hungry wolves, but if Britney and Kevin have to get one, thank God it’s gonna be a girl. They would have screwed up a boy or a girl, but at least a girl will act on her emotional emptiness by stripping in 18 years and four months. As opposed to them torturing a boy with their insane, spoiled antics, in which case he would be the one carjacking me in 15 years or approaching me in a truck stop bathroom and asking if I wanted to “party.”

::sigh:: I fear for the future!

Tonight the final season begins. I have about 4 more eps to watch before then lol. I better get cracking!
Well the weekend is over. It was AWE-SOME. Friday was a hang out night at Tammy's for some Cranium killing. We rock, we won. I rule that game. Saturday was Kathy's wedding and that was totally fun. Caught Cinderella Man Saturday night, very good. Much better than Million Dollar Eastwood. Oops I meant baby. Way to go Ron Howard and way to sneak your younger brother in your movie yet again :) Sunday was a relaxing day except for the 2 hours I had to spent at the office taking care of the system upkeep after an Oracle upgrade. Oh well Monday Monday again and speeding towards the weekend!

eBay is like CRACK to some people.

This scares me. I feel bad for the poor kid who lives there with this demented Mom.

People like this make me want to be an arsonist. Watch all her eBay purchased go up in flames. I'm sure the poor kid would love to see the 8 year old Frankenberry incinerated. Christ the poor guy. If my mother was like this I'd have her committed.

You know the good 'ol Sony Aibo: cute, obviously robotic, completely harmless. These catbots from Necoro? Sick and wrong. They’re obviously being controlled remotely by real cats who’ve been enslaved by the Necoro overlords. Don’t worry, folks I'm assembling an international investigative committee to get those cats sprung free.

Watch the video. Creepy.

Two great love stories are currently captivating the nation: the doomed romance of Jedi turncoat Anakin Skywalker and his forbidden bride, Padmé Amidala, and the surprise wedding of country singer Kenny Chesney to movie star Renée Zellweger, whom he'd wooed in part by writing a song titled "You Had Me From Hello."

I wonder if we couldn't combine these two love stories into one super-mega-universal romance. The answer: yes, of course we can. And from that alternate universe of astral love, we bring you this artifact. Ready the Kleenex you should!

"You're So Beautiful (Only Because I'm So In Love With You)"

"Do It To Me One More Time (Like You Did By The Lake At Naboo)"

"You Had Me At 'I Will Not Condone A Course Of Action That Will Lead Us To War'"

"Naboo Nights (Tatooine Mornings)"

"They Told Me To Let Go Of Everything I Loved (But I Couldn't Let Go Of You)"

"Sometimes Love Makes You Do Crazy Things, Like Slaughter A Bunch of Younglings"

"I Don't Like Sand (But I Do Love You)"

"Remember When We First Met And I Was Only Ten Years Old?"

"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (You Looked Exactly The Same As You Do Now. It's Weird.)"

"My Love Burns Hotter Than My Legless Torso Right Now"

I do not wish to condone piracy or the associated mental and physical perversions associated with the pirate lifestyle—but Star Wars III is apparently available on the Internet.

What does this mean?

It means that .000234% of George Lucas’ total revenue will be drained and millions of pasty kids who don’t want to stand in line on Friday will watch the movie tonight and then go pay to see it fifteen times in the next six months. It also means that DRM is all sound and fury, signifying nothing. This outrage cannot stand.

Props to the guys who got copies of it out, complete with art on the DVD itself and cases, in less than 6 hours to the streets of NYC.

"You take a look at a the roofs of those buildings, they're all at different angles, different shapes," he said. "It is the worst pile of crap architecture I have ever seen in my life."

For once I agree with Donald Trump.

Personally I'd love to see the Twin Towers rebuilt. Improved security, design, etc. They were a fixture of New York City, and they're sorely missed. There are those who remember seeing those great towers, and knew exactly where they stood. I cannot look at the NYC skyline without rememebering exactly where and how they looked. They were a testament of architectural wonderment...and I hope we'll see them again.

"What we need is support to build a bigger and better version of two buildings and more that were taken down by people that were animals," Trump said. "If something happened to the Statue of Liberty, you wouldn't rebuild it as something other than the Statue of Liberty."

Damn right Donald. Damn right.

So the movie-version of Rent due out this Christmas season should ROCK. I was unaware before today that they've got a TON of the original actors doing it. Most notably:

Mark - Anythony Rapp
Roger - Adam Pascal
Thomas B. "Tom" Collins - Jesse L. Martin
Benjamin "Benny" Coffin III - Taye Diggs
Maureen Johnson - Idina Menzel
Wilson Jermaine Heredia - Angel Schunard

With so many original cast members (Especially the most important 3 or 4) reprising their roles I'm eager to see how it turns out.
This guy's rants have long ago topped Lewis Black's.

Email from Clancy Brown, aka Brother Justin.

Dear Beth:

(I'd post this but I don't want my E-mail address out there so please
pass any portion of this note along to the fans on the Yahoo group
whenever you see fit)

You've hit the nail on the head yet again! There is absolutely nothing
to read into the recent press releases about Dan and Tracy developing a
show for Showtime except that SOMEONE (read: Showtime or some cranky
entertainment beat writer) wanted to try to knock some of the luster off
of HBO's golden tower.

There are many reasons not to worry but the first and foremost is -
HOWARD KLEIN!

Howard executive produces at least three shows for different networks
that I know of and is currently paired with CARNIVALE writer William
Schmidt to develop a fourth for none other than HBO! Now I'll grant you
Howard is not the "Creator" of CARNIVALE or any of the other shows he
Exec Produces nor does he write or direct but he is deeply involved in
all of them AND finds
time to operate a top talent management company named 3 Arts (perhaps
you've seen the logo in the end credits of OUR show). Certainly a mind as
creative and facile as Dan's could manage to run an established show like
CARNIVALE as well as develop a few more ideas.

The second reason (almost as obvious as the first) is - HOWARD KLEIN
AGAIN!

Tracy Torme is one of Howard's clients (and an old friend). Howard, and
by logical extension HBO, surely knew of Dan and Tracy shopping their
ideas around (although I'll bet HBO was surprised they landed at
Showtime!). Howard is the guy with the intimate relationships and
communication with HBO. To think this was somehow unexpected is absurd.
If HBO wanted to wrap either Dan or Tracy up exclusively, they could
have; but that's not the way it happens in TV. It's WAY too expensive to
pay someone NOT to play in another sandbox. Plus DK is very sought after
these days. By the time HBO makes up their mind about a third season, I
would expect DK to have at least three more development deals in place
all over town!

The question then becomes will we have a third season and; if so, will
HBO seek to sign Dan up again? My feeling is, "Yes and Yes!"

To the first part of the question - CARNIVALE is not finished. We know
that the final event in our story doesn't occur for another 10 or 11
years and we don't flash forward that far during the finale of season 2.
HBO wouldn't allow the story to end abruptly, it's not their style and
not their reputation. Caroline Strauss and Miranda Heller are smart
cookies who have made their names by taking chances on stories and
subjects and styles that have re-defined series television. And Chris
Albrecht, as the main architect of ALL of it, is not suddenly going to
start behaving like the middle managers that run some of the competition.
HIS vision of HBO as a place where creators are afforded the freedom to
pursue THEIR vision is what keeps HBO on top. Because of that, HBO enjoys
the preeminent place in Hollywood's creative community. It is the FIRST
place people approach with their BEST ideas.

To the second part of the question - read the last half of the above
paragraph. Dan loves CARNIVALE and HBO first. He is not discontent nor is
he a malcontent. I've asked him directly if he would sign on again. He
would in a heart-beat. But these are delicate issues in the beginning;
fraught with ego, strategy, and, ... well... ego. Who says what when
takes up a lot of brain-time in high places. Protocols real and imaginary
are expected to be ignored or honored depending on the phase of the moon
and violations are both admired and despised. Blah blah blah blah....

The truth is it is DK's story. He's the "creator" that is so esteemed by
the HBO model. There is no reason not to expect he will be back. Howard
can do a lot of useful things, but even Howard knows he's not a
story-teller. Howard knows that without Dan, this story will fall flat.
There are too many
disparate strands that support the grand design. There is too much
specialized detail that focus the audience in unexpected and compelling
ways. The characters, time, and setting are too specific to be entrusted
to a second-team back-up. I know it, the writers know it, Howard knows
it, Dan knows it, and HBO knows it. If there is any reason not to allow
Dan to finish telling his tale, I am unaware of it. I must conclude he
will not be allowed to be "the one that got away." (Especially to
Showtime)

I completely understand and empathize with some of the panic posters.
I've suffered through baffling decisions by suits. I don't trust 'em
either. Their nervousness about the future of CARNIVALE is informed and
grounded by experience. All I ask is that you give HBO the benefit of the
doubt. Let
your skepticism be informed and eased by Albrecht's track record. Since
he took the reigns at HBO, the rules have changed. Why would CARNIVALE
suddenly inspire the iconoclasts at HBO to behave like sheep. No, they
are a different breed. And they are tenacious. They don't flail and whine
and look for escape hatches. They look you in the eye and green light
shows like
DEADWOOD, BIG LOVE, UNSCRIPTED, K STREET, SOPRANOS, SIX FEET UNDER, and
on and on.... These folks are horses of a different color. NOT birds of a
feather.

Now to the one sad truth, and the only part of your post that is less
than 100% true. Ben and Justin (Nick and I) are not essential going
forward. Never were. Actors (and sadly the characters they play) hardly
ever are. There are exceptions: Tony Soprano, Carrie Bradshaw, SpongeBob
Squarepants, etc. But ours is an ensemble that serves the story and story
is the star. Ben & Justin could continue but they just as well could not.
There are plenty of characters to carry on the continuity of theme and
narrative (most obviously - Samson). I wish this weren't true, but I have
to be honest...I would still be enthralled with this show even if I
weren't on it - perhaps moreso. Sorry but that's the reality.

Now having said that, there is only one person I would trust to make such
a transition correctly - Dan Knauf. Any other way would smell too much
like a "purge". So the only real indispensable "star" of this show is the
"creator" - Mr. Daniel Knauf. As Milch is to DEADWOOD and Ball is to SIX
FEET UNDER so too is Knauf to CARNIVALE.

So do not despair, fellow Carnys and Knauf-tic faithful. Let the
priesthood at HBO do what they will in their own time. They are wise and
bold and committed. They will make the right choice. It is self-evident.
I am sure that we will continue to tell the story and "...show you
things. Wonderful,
terrible things...." (those 5 emmys right out of the gate didn't hurt
either. SOPRANOS didn't win that many their first season!)

Courage!

Regards - Clancy
Screw Eminem someone needs to sign this kid today.

Live chat in March with Carnivale creator Daniel Knauf:

fboffo_DKnauf: Tiberius, this story is NOT done. I have four more seasons arced out. You might call the end of this season the end of the first "book."
fboffo_DKnauf: A trilogy, 2 seasons each.
fboffo_DKnauf: And you can quote me on that.
fboffo_DKnauf: And I bet you do.

So even though HBO has cancelled further seasons of Carnivale I'm involved in a huge campaign to keep it going. All of the actors and production crew involved with the show very much want to continue it, so we are going to fight for them. If Carnivale ever makes a return I can't express the joy it would bring.
Dan Knauf Speaks About Carnivale's Cancellation (As Posted on the Carnivale Yahoo Group)
Ahh, so it's now official and I can finally speak.

First of all, I haven't commented to the press yet, so these are my first thoughts on this matter, and I can't think of a better group of people to share them with. Lots of you guys have been there since the beginning, and I've enjoyed your analysis, arguments, cheers and occasional gentle (but well thought-out) jeers.

I've read all the posts since Beth announced the cancellation (Could somebody please tell me where this woman gets her information? Talk about jacked-in!), have taken heart and encouragement from your kind words, have shared your outrage and sense of loss.

If you're hoping I'll slam HBO, I'm afraid you're in for a bit of a disappointment.

The fact is, nobody—-and I mean *nobody*-—would have even considered financing and broadcasting a show this expensive, this different, this technically challenging, even if the creator was a seasoned television writer-producer. The fact that I was an untested talent makes their courage all the more extraordinary. I will always appreciate Carolyn's dedication and passion to this project, Chris's support, and
Miranda's steady, guiding hand.

True, like many of you, I am ambivalent: HBO giveth, and HBO taketh away.

I feel like a father whose baby was doomed in vitro, somehow delivered, treated and kept alive by a brilliant team of surgeons, only to see that same team yank the child off life-support just as she began to show improvement.

Do I think their decision was boneheaded? Yes, absolutely.

Do I understand why they made it? Again, yes, absolutely.

Carnivale was an expensive show. Costs-per-episode have been guessed at on this board, and in every case those estimations have been low. Way low. Carnivale, in fact, represented one of the most costly—-if not *the* most costly—-pattern-budget ever invested in a weekly series in television history. If anybody has any resentment toward HBO executives, consider this:

• They have a fiduciary responsibility toward their stock-holders;
• The show was hugely expensive;
• The reviews were mixed.
• The audience was not large enough to support it.

Game. Set. Match.

Was Carnivale thrown into a hopeless time-slot? Definitely. Could we have done better with more promotion and support? Probably. Were marketing opportunities missed? Undoubtedly. Would we have broken out had we gotten a third season? I'm absolutely sure of it.

Would I bet my career, my reputation and--more importantly--tens of millions of stockholder dollars on it?

I sincerely do not know.

Would you?

I'm not here to play apologist for the network. Far from it. But in fairness, these things need saying, so there they are.

HBO taketh away, but, damnit...

... HBO giveth.

I was fortunate enough, for a too-brief, shining moment, to be part of a project in which every last contributor believed with all their hearts—-from the production assistants to the network executives.

Everybody on the show knew we were doing something special. Nobody delivered less than their best work. This is an exceedingly rare thing in the television world, where talented cast and crew are, quite frankly, wasted on pabulum. When asked what they're working on, the all-too-routine answer is "Some piece-of-s—-t cop show (or doctor show, or lawyer show)."

Meanwhile, we all got to work on Carnivale.

Now *that* is cool.

And you guys watched it. And got it. And appreciated it.

You guys counted down to Sunday nights.

You reveled in the show's mysteries, its characters, its world. You taped it, you TIVOed it, you played and replayed it. You caught every blooper and anachronism, every real and imagined flaw in our internal logic. You praised its authenticity and historocity. You researched our mythology. Unlike many of our critics, you not only welcomed the show's intellectual and narrative challenges, but embraced them!

Not one teeny, tiny shred of our time, trouble and work was wasted on you.

And that is very, *very* cool.

Folks have been asking what I want them to do in the face of this, Okay, then. If there's one thing I want from you guys, it's to simply know this:

Carnivale is not dead

Raymond Chandler was once asked by a reporter how he felt about Hollywood ruining all his books. He simply pointed at a shelf behind him and said, "Hollywood hasn't ruined my books. They're all right there."

Similarly, I might point at my boxed set of Season 1 (and soon-to-be-issued Season 2) and say, "The network didn't kill my show. It's right there. Wanna watch a few episodes?"

Carnivale, and this wonderful community that's joined to celebrate it, will continue to live as long as the work is viewed and enjoyed. It's pretty clear now that, for whatever reasons, we never found our audience.

But it's not too late.

Lend your DVDs to friends. Get them out there into the world. Capture eyeballs, collect converts. Donate sets to your local libraries. Throw viewing parties. Start discussion groups.

For God's sake, organize a Live CarnyCon!

And maybe—-just maybe—-in the (hopefully) not so distant future, some bright young executive will say, "Hey, remember that show Carnivale? You know, people are still talking about that! There's a monster fan base out there!" Maybe they'll order a season. Maybe a series of films...

Who knows? Stranger things have (and do) happen.

You can bet I, as well as many in our cast and crew, will be ready to support you in any way we can. As for me, I'll be weighing in on the lists, participating in chats like always. I'm not going anywhere. You guys are stuck with me.

Granted, it'll take some effort, but as a very wise friend of mine named Samson once said, "When it comes to livin, dyin's the easy part." And everything's impossible, til it ain't.

Fans, the ball's in your court, now. Take it and run with it.

Dazzle me.

I love you guys.

D.

If you've never seen Carnivale before watch the opening credits. Along with Six Feet Under I think it is the best show introduction I've ever seen in my life. The art direction is inspired and the symbolism basically sets up the entire show in a mere minute.

Carnivale Credits

As a tribute to my recently cancelled show, here's a little analysis.

The intro starts off with a bunch of tarot cards scattered in a pile.. The first card you zoom in on is "The World" which is supposed to be a representation of the time period, 1930s America, during the Great Depression. It's based on Michelangelo's "Last Judgement." We fly through the card from the skies of heaven to the hell of standing in a bread line. The still picture becomes moving footage of the breadline. We see marvels of technology, a futuristic dirigible and a suspension bridge. This represents the age of science, the anti-religion. The ground is dry, and what should be dirt slips through the fingers like dust. We see a family walking away...the scene turns to a card and we zoom out.

We zoom out to see an angel fighting a dragon, Leviathan, (from Isaiah 27 I believe), and the card is the Ace Of Swords. The artwork is from Gustave Dore. We scroll over to another card, Death.

Entering the Death card the camera takes you through a hellish red background and into darkness. Deep inside the card is footage of people living in old smelting ovens, and on a weird hillside-the only place they could find to live. This image begins a sequence of dark things from the early 20th century. Next we see footage of of faschism represented by Mussolini, totalitarianism by Stalin, and blad-faced racism by a KKK member jostling his baby in a mini clan uniform. All of these things took rise during this time period.

The scene shifts to children. The family grounds these abstract notions. That is what the show is about-big ideas, emobodied in people. The little girl's face turns into another angel, an angel vanquishing a devil in turn turning into the the King of Swords card. Raphael's St. Michael Victorious is the basis.

The next card, Temperance, signifies balance with a painting by Piete Bruegel. In the picture peasants are dancing. Their lives are hard, but they are having a good moment amid the strife. After viewing things that were horrendous in the 20th century we begin a sequence of things that are good. Jesse Owens the runner. Babe Ruth the baseball player. People swing-dancing. The dancers dissolve into two angels dancing in heaven. Across this card, The Magician, you see the devil being tossed out of Heaven. The battle for mens' souls begins-thus the thesis for the show.

Suddenly the story takes a twist...The card is turned upside down. In Tarot apparently an inverted card takes on another meaning. Wasted talent, or lack of will. Things are not what they seem in good vs. evil.

Next comes the Tower card, illustated with an image of the great battle between the Romans and the Carthaginians, as imagine by 15th century engraver Fouquet. We see men piled onto trucks in a hurry going somewhere; something is going to happen. Among the images of conflict and urgency is an image that sums up the desperation of the era: people are lining up for free food, literally in the shadow of the Capitol.

We see the father figure of the era, FDR. He represents a timeless figure of judgement. He transitionos to the Judgement tarot card, illustrated by the archangel Michael. We zoom out to see the Sun and Moon cards on the shoulders of the Judgement card. Sun = God, Moon = Devil. Then a wind blows these items away and reveal where these cards have been laying-literally on Carnivale. The emblem of Carnivale remains, and notice it contains both the Sun and Moon signs within its emblem.
I'm very sad today. One of my favorite shows has been cancelled and will not return for a third season. HBO announced today that it has cancelled Carnivale, not citing any reasons. They've also said that the shows story was fully carried out, which is absolute bullshit. At the end of season 2 Justin is not dead after "the big confrontation" and there is more evil to unbalance things against Ben. This show could have gone maximum 6 seasons like every other big hitter on HBO-Six Feet Under, Sopranos, Oz. I hope maybe another network will pick it up or a big cult following will convince HBO to bring the show back. I was really looking forward to settling into a few more years with Carnivale...

TOBY COMES HOME TONIGHT!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Tuesday, May 03, 2005

Researchers have mainstreamed a Sony Qrio robot in a California nursery school. The robot, which is assisted at all times by an assistant, dances with the children but rarely drinks juice or has to go to the potty. I think the best, and most telling, quote follows:

"The children think of Qrio as a feeble younger brother."

Just wait until things aren't so feeble anymore. Then you'll know what John Connor was talking about kids.

What happens when you don't "Have It Your Way."
"All we have is this moment, right here, right now. The future is just a fucking concept that we use to avoid being alive today. So, be here now."

Nate Sr: You're not even grateful, are ya?
David: Grateful? For the worst fucking experience of my life?
Nate Sr: You hang on to your pain like it means something. Like it's worth something. Well let me tell ya, it's not worth shit. Let it go. [Talking to the air] Infinite possibilites and all he can do is whine.
David: Well what am I supposed to do?
Nate Sr: What do ya think? You can do anything ya lucky bastard, you're alive! What's a little pain compared to that?
David: [Sigh] It can't be so simple.
Nate Sr: What if it is?

Sacrament Math: How Big Is Jesus?

Some weirdo tried to do the math on Communion and concludes that if transubstantiation is real, then Jesus must have an awful lot of flesh and blood to have been used as sacrament so very many times:

If you conservatively assume that these are the End Times and that Jesus will soon be completely consumed (a detail that I do not believe is a part of mainstream Christian dogma), then he weighs two billion times more than you, and contains fourteen billion times as much blood. (2,028,252,833× and 14,375,000,000×).
By comparison, the largest living animal on Earth is the Blue Whale, at a paltry 150 tons (a mere 2,500× bigger than you). It is believed that the largest dinosaur, the Argentinosaurus, weighed only 90 tons.

However, perhaps Jesus, like Wolverine, has amazing regenerative powers (in which case, it's surprising it took him three days to return from the dead. But maybe he was just taking a little time-out.)

This years love had better last
Heaven knows it's high time
I've been waiting on my own too long
But when you hold me like you do
It feels so right ah now
I start to forget
How my heart gets torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Feeling like yuh can't go on

Turning circles and time again
It cut like a knife oh now
If you love me got to know for sure
'Cause it takes something more this time
Than sweet sweet lies oh now
Before I open up my arms and fall
Losing all control
Every dream inside my soul
When you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain't this life so sweet

This years love had better last
This years love had better last

Cause whose to worry
If our hearts get torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Don't yuh know this life goes on
Won't you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain't this life so sweet

This years love had better last
This years love had better last
This years love had better last
This years love had better last
This years love had better last
Woah ah yea
This years love had better last

Is the Tribulation about to begin? Is it already occurring? Chances are it is.

The Malachy Prophecies have NEVER been wrong. They basically consist of a few sentences about each pope, detailed chronologically from the beginning by Malachy. Pope John Paul II was De labore Solis or "Of the Eclipse/Labor Of the Sun." Pope John Paul II, Karol Wojtyla, was born on May 18, 1920 during a solar eclipse. He also comes from behind the former Iron Curtain (the East, where the Sun rises). He might also be seen to be the fruit of the intercession of the Woman Clothed with the Sun labouring in Revelation 12 (because of his devotion to the Virgin Mary). His Funeral occurred on 8 April, 2005 when there was a solar eclipse visible in the Americas. Quite a coincidence since they happen so infrequently. Lunar eclipses happen all the time but solar eclipses are much rarer.

Pope Benedictine XVI is attributed as Gloria Olivae, or "Glory of the Olives." The Benedictine order traditionally said this Pope would come from their order, since a branch of the Benedictine order is called the Olivetans. St Benedict is said to have prophesied that before the end of the world, a member of his order would be Pope and would triumphantly lead the Church in its fight against evil. While the Holy Father chose the name "Benedict", this does not seem enough to fulfil the prophecy. Nor is it clear how Benedict XVI (a Bavarian) is "Glory of the Olives". Since he is said to have remarked in the Conclave after saying he would take the name Benedict that it was partly to honour Benedict XV, a pope of peace and reconciliation, perhaps Benedict XVI will be a peacemaker in the Church or in the World, and thus carry the olive branch.

Now the really interesting part was that the Gloria Olivae was deemed as the 2cd to last pope that we will ever have in the Malachy Prophecies. After that time the final pope is accredited as Petrus Romanus, or "Peter the Roman."

In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, & Judex tremêdus judicabit populum suum. Finis.

(In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End.)

So it is believed that after Benedict's reign as pope, Pope Peter will lead the church through its greatest persecution, and ultimately against the antiChrist who is due to appear any time now. With the mass of "cafeteria Catholics" who pick and choose the parts they like the most about Catholicism, it is not hard to believe that with Benedicts' coronation there will be great dissent due to his conservative and traditional ways. People keep rambling about having a "progressive pope." That's an oxymoron...popes are not meant to bring about change persay...arrogance is what changes things that have been set in stone. Popes have humility in that they do not change what is decreed by a higher seat than they.

Interesting stuff. Scary stuff.
You know after the Wendy's chili incident? Remember that? You know what I had right after that happened? Wendy's chili. IF that actually happened do you know how clean the chili would have to be afterwards? If American Airlines has a plane that crashes, I'm flying American Airlines next. Cheaper tickets and the highest probability that nothing will go wrong lol. But the chili thing cracks me up because it looks like it never even happened. That's right folks, just another Californian pathological liar!

So movies I'm excited for?

1. Of course Star Wars Episode III Revenge Of the Sith tops the list.
2. Kingdom Of Heaven looks to be the best Crusade movie ever. Convert those infidels!
3. A Lot Like Love. Yeah it's Ashton Kutcher but his movies have really been enjoyable as of late.
4. Hitchhikers Guide To The Universe. Sounds interesting, looks interesting.
5. War Of The Worlds. Spielbergs next effort. Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning...oh yeah I can smell Summer Blockbuster.

And of course "The Sopranos" will begin shooting its sixth season April 29, but Imperioli said he hasn't yet seen a script. Creator and producer David Chase has said this will be the show's last season, but the cast hopes it will be otherwise.

Thank God. I need the last season. I need questions answered. I need to know Tony's fate. I need some Uncle Junior! So many things can happen...it's going to be crazy.

Democrats, using their outdated playbook, which led to their defeat in the last two elections, relied on the results of polls to make their decision in support of starving Terri Schiavo. Republicans stuck to their guns and used morals and values to take the side of life.

Initial polls that democrat lawmakers used to make their decision showed that over sixty-three percent of Americans agreed with the decision to starve Terri to death. Quite a convincing number, except the polls were flawed. We now know the questions asked in the liberal biased polls were misleading, since they implied Terri was unconscious and on life support. Which she was not.

Most people polled assumed she was unconscious and being kept alive on a life support system. They assumed that pulling the plug on Terri was the only rational thing to do. After all, none of the people polled would want to be kept alive in the same circumstance.

One problem, the polls would have come out differently if questions were asked in the right context.

Once again Democrats misjudged the feelings of Americans in the Red States. Their misjudgment will no doubt become apparent in the next election. When they lose once again

LOL.

Here are some more that really piqued my interest.

My first impressions of the pope came in my first years of Catholic elementary school. Pope John Paul II was on a U.S. tour and members of my school and church traveled to see him. Our very old, very tiny first-grade teacher, Mrs. Fisher, told her story upon returning: Though she had been in the front row of worshippers, she was quickly pushed back by the crowds of people reaching out to touch the pope's hand. Nearly overtaken by the crowds, Mrs. Fisher felt a hand take hers and pull her up. I will never forget the light in that little old woman's eyes as she told us she looked up to see that it was the pope who had taken her hand. He had noticed and taken the time for the smallest and frailest of the thousands of worshippers, to touch this woman's life so wonderfully and so simply, and for that my pope means the world to me.
Jamie Hazard;
Cape Girardeau, Missouri

I think he was a saint in the making. Twenty-three years ago my daughter was in her second bout with cancer. We were granted an audience with the pope and he blessed her. Her cancer is gone and she has been in remission for 20 years. He truly was/is a saint.
Paul Dombrosky; Honolulu, Hawaii

John Paul II was the embodiment of the Vicar of Christ. He answered only to Jesus. He was not swayed by public opinion or the opinion of world leaders. He stood for truth at all times. His consistent stand for life included the unborn, starving children, workers, families, students, the elderly, the infirm and even condemned prisoners. Truth does not vary over time, neither did John Paul's moral teaching. He was an inspiration to all. As a Polish-American I lost not only my Holy Father but a fellow Pole as well. John Paul II acted with the Lord to free Europe from Soviet enslavement, yet that is not his greatest achievement. His example of what one man can do with faith in Jesus is his lasting gift to humanity.
Mark Stepien; Dearborn Heights, Michigan
CNN has posted some of the emails they've received regarding the Pope and his impact on them. Some were very moving and interesting.

I am a Tanzanian Catholic currently working in Tokyo. Pope John Paul II visited Tanzania in 1990. What I saw that day, the crowd from all walks of life, different faiths flocked to see and meet him. Everyone wanted to shake [his] hand. It was not possible, but when he raised his right hand to bless us, I felt an electric shock in my body, my faith strengthened and tears went down our eyes. He was a man of God who wanted to see no one in pain. The way he died in pain, I think he wanted to take all the pain people face in the world today. He has died for us, and as a Catholic, I believe we have to carry on what he lived for. Though he died, I also believe he is somewhere watching and guiding us. There is no way for anyone to shake my faith ever since I saw this man of God in September 1990 in Tanzania. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
Assumpta Massoi; Tokyo, Japan

Youth today are a cynical bunch, but when my daughter, who is barely out of her teens, learned that the pope met with and forgave Mehmet Ali Agca [his would-be assassin] she commented, "he was truly a good man." I cannot think of a better way to describe him.
Enrique Olmos; Sydney, Australia

John Paul the Great, your influential words shook the structures of the modern world. Not only were you the pope, you were a great person, one whom I feel was right in the heart of the action but also in the hearts of the people no matter the religion. We will miss and love you always, papa.
James; Belfast, Northern Ireland

As any Catholic, I feel orphaned as [if] I have lost a father. But also I feel we have won a saint in heaven to pray for us.
Alejandro; Buenos Aires, Argentina

I was just myself thinking of this yesterday...and today as well when my phone remarked to me that he will most definitely be a saint. Another saint looking out for us can never hurt, and I realize that this is most definitely a mark in history. St. Theresa, Pope John Paul II, these are big pieces of history that will be ingrained within in for years, decades, centuries...until the ends of time. I must say I'm quite moved by how he had touched so many, especially those not of the Catholic faith. Embodied in that man was, to me, the essence of Roman Catholicism. The selflessness, sacrifice, and indiscriminate love...
Finally thank god. Jamster is going to get their asses handed to them. Maybe we all won't have to listen to those damn annoying commercials anymore. For the COOL ICE choose ICE04! For the SEXY NATASHA text...god I hate that crap.

In funnerer news I turn 23 in 2 days. That's right...April 8 marks the 23rd year of my existence on this planet. I can hear you all clamoring now. Planning on heading down to Atlantic City for the night, then maybe a bar crawl Saturday. Hoo-HA!
What a sad two weeks. Terri Schiavo, Pope John Paul II, among others. Almost as if the showers of spring are tears being let forth.

"I appreciate the example of grace and dignity that [Schiavo's relatives] have displayed at a difficult time. I urge all those who honored Terri Schiavo to continue to work to build a culture of life where all Americans are welcomed and valued and protected, especially those who live at the mercy of others.

"The essence of civilization is that the strong have a duty to protect the weak. In cases where there are serious doubts or questions, the presumption should be in favor of life."

Anyone remember this?

It's Friday Night!
And The Mood Is Right!
Gonna Have Some Fun!
Show Ya How It's Done!
TGIF!

Wow...Friday nights used to be big stay in nights lol to watch awesome TGIF shows.

The original line up was:

Full House
Family Matters
Perfect Strangers
Just the Ten of Us

There was also also a show with Heather Locklear that was short lived. And My Wish about a genie. Babytalk a spin off on Look Who's Talking. Dinosaurs...which ended depressingly when they recreated the meteors hitting and everyone died lol. Interesting enough were the spinoffs. Perfect Strangers came first, then Famiyl Matters was a spin off of that (Harriet was the elevator woman in PS), then Urkel jet-packed off into Step By Step. He also had cameos in Full House, and a few other shows. Good memories...

YAY FRIDAY!

Reast easy Theresa Schiavo.

Here's an email written sometime last week.

Shes NOT a vegetable - and PVS is not even a medically agreed upon diagnosis or defnition, it's what some doctors call people when they don't see much hope of them coming out of it. But some do, in fact 43% of PVS improve and some have woken up entirely. PVS is just what they call you when nothing seems to be working, but every single case is completely different.

She is not in a coma, she is not even on life support. The only thing she can't do is swallow food, and they haven't tried in over 10 years to see if that works now too. She appears to respond to stimulus, the videos are pretty convincing. She also appears to have emotions - though idiot doctors are saying they are spontaneous. Hard for me to see if someone is smiling, that they aren't feeling happy on some level.

The whole case rests on the fact that her ex husband, who was cheating on her at the time her heart stopped and is suspected of having abused her, doesn't want any more of the millions he won in the malpractice case used for her care, because he doesn't give a crap about her. He has a live in girlfriend for 10 years, and 2 children with her. and right after terry got sick, he had all of terrys cats put to sleep because he hated them. Meanwhile this dude's whole argument is that terry "said" she wouldn't want to live in this state. Before. No one else ever heard her say that, she never wrote it, or signed a document saying that AND he didn't bring it up until she was IN this state for 10 YEARS, and AFTER he got his award money.

Whether she is aware or not isn't the issue as miuch as the fact that there is no way of knowing 100% if she is aware or not, OR if she will ever improve. Some suddenly snap out of it like nothing every happened. She may be conscious and aware, but simply lacks the brain capacity to outwardly respond to stimilus - and if that were true, we'd never have a way of knowing.

Point is, is you have to err on the side of LIFE, unless you have a clear indication not to. Some estranged husband's wish to kill her because it's sapping his award money, is not a credible PROOF that she wanted to die. We have to assume she wanted to live. Period.

The Catholic position on this is very clear. And as Catholics we should support it. Terri has a fundamental right to live, without outside interference. Technically, allowing herself to die, is a mortal sin by Catholic law. For others to allow this is also against Catholic law - and Terri is Roman Catholic. Her husband keeps talking about her going to be with the "Lord", when he is doing something against that very God's wishes and His laws.

This is more about the left and liberals wanting to push a culture of death, so they can conveniently euthanize and kill anyone they think is "inconvenient" or a sap on our resources. The same people who want to kill infants in the womb, and draw arbirtray lines when that is ok to kill and when it is not. They are drawing a line that it's ok to kill the incapacitated, because one dude SAYS thats what she would have wanted. Thats a bad precendent and a slippery slope. Only ONE other society in history promoted the euthanasia of the disabled... Hitler and Nazi Germany. What I love are the same people who are pro-abortion are the same screaming lesbians who say Scott Peterson is guilty of TWO murders. One was a baby in the womb. These same people say aborting a baby in the womb is not murder. It's crazy. What the world is coming to, is that life is only valuable if it's WANTED. A baby in the womb is only murdered if it was WANTED; if she wanted to abort it, it wouldnt be murder. And same with terry schiavo. Her husband doesn't WANT her. And he is her legal guardian (and wont "divorce" her or release guardianship to her parents, who love her and will take care of her for the rest of her life, even if she STAYS this way. He WANTS her dead.

The final contradictory argument is, these "right to death" activists love to say that we should be merciful and kill people to end their suffering. But with Terri Schiavo, these same people are saying she is incapable of feeling suffering when they slowly starve and dehydrate her to death (which no one can know for sure). If she isn't capable of suffering, then her quality of life isn't bad and why kill her at all??? Makes zero sense.

Heres one simple, final last way to look at it. Even if we accept that it is ok to be merciful those that are "dying" by helping the process along, the truth is - we can ease their suffering without killing them and let nature take its course, as if you are truly "dying" you will "die" Terri Schiavo is NOT DYING. She will stay awake alive and function and make her family happy and possibly be happy herself - except WE ARE KILLING HER, by witholding food and water from her. Barbaric and disgusting. It shows the culture of death that we as a society are descending into.

Check out freerepublic.com - I'm sure the debate is raging there still.

It's Good Friday...so here are some C.S. Lewis quotes that are my favorites in honorarium of Easter 2005. Hard to believe it was two thousand and five years ago when Christ was walking the Earth.

"You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body."

"What you see and hear depends a good deal on where you are standing; it also depends on what kind of a person you are"

"God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world"

"The real problem is not why some pious, humble, believing people suffer, but why some do not."

"If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this."

"Faith... is the art of holding on to things your reason once accepted, despite your changing moods."

"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell."

"Nothing that you have not given away will ever be really yours."

*** "I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." ***

"The pain I feel now is the happiness I had before. That's the deal."

"If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world"

Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"

Has this world been so kind to you that you should leave with regret? There are better things ahead than any we leave behind.

My favorite from that site is still

"DUDE YOU'RE GETTING A PETER!"

"Nobody better lay a finger on my Peter!"
Ok so tons of people keep complaining and bitching that I don't update my blog anymore like I used to. I'm actually kind of surprised at the frequency some of you check this lol. So here's a little update for all you dedicated readers:

Beginning of February I finally got hired by a company called IntelliSync. 5 years ago PumaTech and Synchrologic merged to give us IntelliSync. Based out of Alpharetta, GA and San Jose, CA (with many offices across the country and world) IntelliSync deals with File Synchronization and mobile data synchronization as well. We have many vendors but our biggest client is the pharmaceutical Pfizer. Pfizer has tons of travelling employees who visit doctors and introduce new drugs, sample packs, give speeches, etc. These mobile users need a way to synchronize their data or portions of a collective database while on the road. IntelliSync developed a suite of 8 programs that does just this in a very interesting manner, to which I cannot elaborate hence evil competitors might find it via a sneaky Google search :P

So after like 2 dozen interviews within a month I finally got hired by IntelliSync. Great benefits, great pay, excellent upward (and horizontal) mobility. It's a very scalable starting position. Not to mention the branch I work out of in Bedminster, NJ is about 10 minutes from home. So Feb 28-March 4 I flew down to Georgia for a week of training. I got home that Friday after 3 plane delays, and then 2 days later left for spring break with Jess, my girlfriend. We spent the week down in Fort Myers Beach which was a nice way to relax before rejoining the workforce. So I've been working officially for about 2 weeks now and it's going excellent. It's a lot of hard work, studying, learning the systems inside out, but I've been enjoying it so far.

So that's what's up in the world of Pete. In 2 weeks and a day I turn 23. It's time for me to really find out if nobody likes you when you're 23. I say it often enough, so ironically we'll see :P That's the humdrum and humble on this side of the GSP.

Hope everyone who's working is doing well, everyone at 'Cuse is keeping warm, and anyone I haven't talked to in forever and a day understands I've been b to the usy the past 4 months.

Palumbo-OUT!

Bourbon
Congratulations! You're 130 proof, with specific scores in beer (80) , wine (83), and liquor (86).
Screw all that namby-pamby chick stuff, you're going straight for the bottle and a shot glass! It'll take more than a few shots of Wild Turkey or 99 Bananas before you start seeing pink elephants. You know how to handle your alcohol, and yourself at parties.

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 56% on proof

You scored higher than 90% on beer index

You scored higher than 93% on wine index

You scored higher than 93% on liquor index

Atlanta trip went well, got back Friday after 3 horrendous delays because Newark was short air-traffic controllers. Sat in the plane on the runway for 2 hours until we could finally take off. Back home since Friday, now I'm off to Florida tomorrow with Jess to visit my parents. Yay warm weather.

So I've given up looking for the third CD of this trio that I wanted to take on my business trip. I want to bring a book with me on the plane too, so I grab Case For Faith, and as I'm going under my bed to find it, I find the 2cd software box with the needed CD. Thanks Jesus. You the man!

It's going to be a good week :)

Hopefully updates to follow from Atlanta!

'Twas the night before Christmas, and God it was neat
The kids were both gone, and my wife was in heat

The doors were all bolted, and the phone off the hook
It was time for some nooky, by hook or by crook.

Momma in her teddy, and I in the nude.
Had just hit the bedroom and reached for the lube

When out on the lawn there arose such a cry,
That I lost my boner and poor momma went dry.

Up to the window I sprang like an elf,
Tore back the shade while she played with herself.

The moon on the crest of the snowman we'd built,
Showed a broom up his ass, clean up to the hilt.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a rusty old sleigh and eight mangy reindeer.

With a fat little driver, half out of his sled,
A sock in his ear, and a bra on his head.

Sure as I'm speaking, he was as high as a kite.
And he yelled to his team, but it didn't sound right.

Whoa Shithead, whoa Asshole, whoa Stupid, whoa Putz,
Either slow down this rig or I'll cut off your nuts.

Look out for the lamp post, and don't hit the tree,
Quit shaking the sleigh, 'cause I gotta go pee.

They cleared the old lamp post, the tree got a rub,
Just as Santa leaned out and threw up on my shrub.

And then from the roof we heard such a clatter,
As each little reindeer now emptied its bladder.

I was donning my jacket to cover my ass,
When down the chimney Santa came with a crash.

His suit was all smelly with perfume galore,
He looked like a bum and he smelled like a whore.

That was some brothel, he said with a smile,
The reindeer are pooped, I'll just stay here awhile.

He walked to the kitchen, himself poured a drink,
Then whipped out his pecker and pissed in the sink.

I started to laugh, my wife smiled with glee,
The old boy was hung nearly down to his knee.

Back in the den, Santa reached in his sack,
But his toys were all gone, and some new things were packed.

The first thing he found was a pair of false tits,
The next was a handgun with a penis that spits.

A box filled with condoms was Santa's next find,
And a six pair of panties, the edible kind.

A bra without nipples, a penis extension,
And several other things that I shouldn't even mention.

A cock ring, a G-string, and all types of oil,
A dildo so long, it lay in a coil.

This suff ain't for kids, Mrs. Santa will shit,
So I'll leave 'em here, and then I'll just split.

He filled every stocking and then took his leave,
With one tiny butt plug tucked under his sleeve.

He sprang to his sleigh, but his feet were like lead,
Thus he fell on his ass and broke wind instead.

In time he was seated, took the reins of his hitch,
Take me home Rudolph, this night's been a bitch!

The sleigh was near gone when we heard Santa shout, The best thing about sex
is that it never wears out!

Merry Christmas Everyone.
