Well another awesome weekend. Friday night huge Red House party gathering. Popped in a burned CD of some kickass music and everyone went wild. Had our Red House openhouse on Saturday, and then went off to see the Passion Of the Christ. Amazing. Go see it. Another party Saturday night, lounged around Sunday and relaxed, and chilled out. Now it's onto the harsh week, but the weather has gotten upto 50 degrees! Apparently it's in the 60s in New Jersey! Dad called before and it's in the 80s in Florida. Oh God thank you for small pleasures. Time to get outta work :D

Ah almost forgot...read this article...very interesting. I remember when James Caveizel was struck by lightening and remarking to myself how ironic that was. Finger of God maybe eh?
Well the week of hell looks like it's just about over. I've got about another hour at work and I can go home and get out of my nice clothes. I had my senior picture taken today, and yesterday the presentation was aces. All aces baby. I'm starting to finally feel better again (I had an upper respiratory infection..again 2 weeks after the last), so maybe I won't perpetually be on antibiotics. Friday is here, and Happy Hour is only a few short hours away ;P Hopefully off to a part or 8 tonight, and then the Red House open house tommorrow night. Hopefully we can get a full house for next years housemates. I'd feel bad if we left and they had a lot of open spots. (There will be 11 empty rooms after this semester...10 now since my friend Zach is a definite on moving in.) Then an impromptu at the house party tommorrow night. I have the best time, and all my housemates agree, at our own Red House Parties, or just when we decide to party in one night. Carl's birthday weekend bash was one such night. Turned into a 90s dance party, and we all trudged to Kimmel at the end of the night as a HOUSE. Excellent night, and after one like it there's nothing you can't accomplish. Got my ticket confirmation a few days ago, it's final-I'll be in Florida exactly a week from today...even timewise! Woohoo YEAH! I can almost feel the warm 60s already lol. Also I might get to meet someone while I'm there who I've known for 3 years, but haven't ever met. I can't begin to say how excited I am about that. This might turn out to be an amazing Spring Break after all. Ride the highs, paddle like hell during the lows.

Going to see Passion Of the Christ tommorrow night with Zach and Bekkah. Hopefully Jay and Meg will tag along. I really am excited for this movie. Return of the King moved me in a way most movies don't. I get excited for some movies for the action, or for the story lines etc, even actors (ie Tom Hanks new movie this March!), but Return Of the King moved me much more deeply because of my connection with the book, JRR Tolkien, and most importantly its religious connections to Catholicism and Christianity. CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien both were Christians. Atheists actually, and in their search for Truth, they became believers. Tolkien actually brought Lewis back to his faith. The LOtR trilogy though moved me even in literary form, and watching the movies literally (no pun intended) took my breath away. There are very few movies that move me so deeply, I can only think of maybe 3 or 4 out of everything I've ever seen. Joe vs. the Volcano, (if you know me well or have had any discussion about it before, you'll know why), The Green Mile, and Short Circuit 2. There's specific reasons for each. Passion Of the Christ is more than a movie to me; it looks as if Passion will bolster my faith. The most graphic and effective way of getting an experience through to me is through film first, written word second, and orally third. Up until now I can only imagine what Jesus went through, I feel like it's my responsiblity to see it, no matter how horrific to truly understand the sacrifice involved. I have great expectations for Saturday. I'm not going into the theater with popcorn and soda. You shouldn't be eating while Jesus is starving and being tortured lol. I do not think he'd approve! Ok time to get back to the office...

OK some spare time finally. This week is already been to hell, now it's time for the journey back. I'm sick again...what is this 2 weeks ago? ugh... This week holds 2 major presentations, and for the greater of the two, our 4th group member dropped out of the class so the other 2 members and I have to pick up his slack, a day before the presentation. Last weekend was at least fun. Friday night was Happy Hour and some relaxation afterwards. Saturday Amy and Meryl had a party, which I almost ended up not going to, but did! Glad I did, because I had a lot of fun and got to know a few people a lil better. It's strange to meet new people even now in my final semester. Finally booked by tickets down to Fl yesterday, so a week from Friday I'll be in sunny Florida baby. Oh yeahhhh. Get to see my 'rents and the new dog. My brother is going to come down as well, so it will be nice to see everyone.

In other news Oz Season 3 came out yesterday! Went straight out to pick it up last night, but never got to watch it :( Had to meet with my group for that project to resplit up how we're presenting it, and then upon returning home I started to feel lightheaded and really spacey. Flashback to an hour earlier when I took a shot of NyQuil not really thinking about it. Went to bed at like 8:30 and slept straight through till this morning. Oops. Went to Health Services today and thought that I wasn't going to get any meds 'cause I got the chinese doctor who never gives me an antibiotic, rather likes to let things "run their course." I knew I had an upper-respiratory infection, (I've sure had enough of them in my life to know by now), and I thought he was going to just give me Tylenol and throat lozenges, BUT he did give me a weeks worth of Penicillin, if I chose to go that route. Hell yeah. If I waited till next week I'd still be sick by the time I was leaving for Florida, and I remember 2 years ago when I flew congested. I felt like I would DIE. Imagine your head exploding...yeah not fun...so yay antibiotics.

Today is also a big day too. The Passion Of The Christ released today, and unsuprisingly it's been getting rave reviews just like the critics had given weeks before. I cannot wait to see it, although it's going to have to wait until Saturday morning/afternoon at the earliest because the rest of this week needs to be traversed. Friday is my senior photo woohoo, and a bunch of work calls I've been scheduling until then. Life will be easier once Thursday is over... Hope I make it till then.

Finally it's coming out!

No time to post tonight about the interesting weekend I had. I'll try when I've got some spare time. This week is already hell and it's only Tuesday :L

***This post was from last week, and I accidentally posted it to the wrong blog so here it is-like you care!***

I don't know how much of this I can take anymore... I've had enough of the rug being pulled out from underneath me, of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel only for it to extinguish. Senior year is supposed to be fun, at least for most people I know it is.

Nothing is ever easy. Ever.

And maybe that's a good thing.
And maybe sometimes I couldn't care less.

I think if I was granted one wish, I'd know what I'd ask for: 1 month where everything went my way. 1 month, and that was it, where the sky was the limit if you could put a limit to things instead of the limit being the sky. I haven't been this bothered in a very long time. All the little things that don't bother you seem to congeal into a pool and come washing back to shore like a rogue wave.

Well screw them. I'm going to beat all of it down and come out on top. In the wise words of Pete Wrigley:

"Don't Tread On Pete."

Well yet another amazing Red House party! The Valentine's Day party was a success smash hit, and was enjoyed by all apparently! A great weekend with tons of drama as per usual. Looks like I'll be going down to Florida for Spring Break. Wahoo. This is going to be a rough week of class, so I'm getting right to it!

So great news...

Mom and Dad got a new puppy yesterday!

A Shih Tzu who bears a resemblance to our old dog, Buttons. Mom had called me last week saying she had seem a cream colored female and she was totally conflicted because she called me three days in a row to ask my opinion. We settled upon waiting for me to get home in the spring and help her shop around in NJ. I call her last night though, and she asks me to guess what she has sitting in her lap lol. I'm really glad we have a new little addition to the family. I really miss having an animal companion around at all times; their presence is very soothing. As well it's been about 6-7 years since Buttons passed away, (our first Shih Tzu, and the first pet that was really MY own and had more than a 5 second memory span) and I'd been getting those pangs of puppy love again. In an past post I mentioned visitng a pet store on Rt. 22 over Christmas break with Amar, Jesse, and Tara. Despite the horrible kennel smell the dogs were adorable. Some got so excited like this one little guy who wanted attention so bad he was like knocking into the side of his cage and I was mildly disturbed that he might shimmy his cage right off the shelf! I remember asking one of the employees if they had any Shih Tzus, and they did-one. He was the sweetest lil guy ever and it opened a floodgate of memories of Buttons. I miss that dog something terrible, and for the rest of my life and beyond I will carry his memory in my heart.

Time for work! Huge network inventory of the whole building today.
Yay. ^_^
An interesting headline that caught my eye this morning:

CNN.com - Movie popcorn popularizer dead - Feb. 10, 2004

Sunday, February 08, 2004

"I hope I’ve drawn your attention to the fact that, no matter how many people smoke out or download music, both actions are illegal. While the punishments for doing either may vary, doing either makes you a law-breaker. [...]

But your parents wouldn't approve of your underage drinking, nor would they be excited to know that you were speeding and they sure as hell wouldn't buy you a bong—but they would buy you an iPod. Downloading music without paying for it is a crime largely devoid of social stigma; it is much more socially acceptable than, say, stealing a real CD. The Recording Industry Association of America would say downloading music is the same thing as going into Amoeba and shoving a CD in your pants Empire Records style, but I disagree—downloading isn't stealing, it's infringing on copyright law, which is something entirely different."

OK class is pretty much going to be not that interesting today :L Paintshop Basics. We got deep into Paintshop last semester for my webdesign class. So it also looks like I'll be probably staying here for MayMester...::SIGH:: That and it looks like I'll probably be taking a class or two this June as well so I can finish the hell that is my major >:L

Oh well it has to be done, at least I walk in May. Had the rents make their reservations so far and it looks like they, my sister, the kids, and my brother will all be coming up for graduation. Weird. 4 years ago I was a freshmen. Then I thought well freshman year is almost over I told myself I have 3 more years! Then sophmore year it was more like well I'm only half done! Then Junior year it was of course one more year! Now th at I'm in senior year I don't know what to say! Ok time to putz in Photoshop for our project-DejaView. A streaming website full of your favorite 80s and 90s television shows!

So it's another Friday and I'm glad this horrid week is finished. The work never ends...ever. But college does and that sucks! :) I got sick again like 3 days ago, so I've been walking around high as a kite, and that's WITHOUT being on anything. ::sigh:: Yeah well at least Health Services gave me something for once so I'm on drugs yet again. Yay. Guess my dream of a sickness-free semester is shattered. ::shattershatter::

Oh well! This weekend is going to be crazy busy too. I've taken part the past 3 years in something called College-Bowl. It's basically a college trivia game where each college has contestants and you duel off much like Jeopardy. We usually do pretty good and my most memorable answer was "Beaver College." Hehehe. I love knowing weird little trivial facts that have no right infesting my head but in this case they're warranted if only for a day :) Have an IST group gathering Saturday night, that should be interesting...and then Sunday is SUPERBOWL SUNDAYYYYYYYY. Thinking maybe I'll hit up Kathy's and watch it there since Jay and Meg are going to his Dad's for the game. Maybe I'll invite them over the house. Gotta order my Cosmo's wings on Saturday :) The delivery guy from there loves me now lol. Well one more day of work then off to meet Big Billy for some college bowl practice tonight. And ::sigh:: now that I'm on antibiotics I guess that means only 1 beer. >:L

And me oh my when will I find time to play FF V?

Lisa brought her dog into work today, a Labrador Retriever. I love having big doggies around to play with during work. Makes me miss having my own dog even more. I really hope my parents get another Shih Tzu. Dogs have a really calming effect on me and make things less stressful.

CNN.com - Review: 'Butterfly' not effective - Jan. 22, 2004: "Worse, the impact of the transformations is lost. In one of the altered pasts, Kutcher's character loses both arms during an explosion. The audience reaction was laughter. Laughing at an amputee is not a good sign. "
Ok Yes I've been very busy lately and not updating as much as usual ;P I apologize for that, but it's been pretty hectic to say the least. Classes are interesting, althought a lot of work. Your last semester senior year is supposed to be easy right? Wrong! ;P This past weekend was a blast though. The Red House was out in FULL FORCE Friday night at the Pirate party, and I must say my costume rocked! Saturday night was the Stoplight Party-Wear green if you're available, Yellow if you're sort of committed, and Red if you're NO NO!

Well a new week has begun and I still don't have heat in my room. Damn my landlord. It's time to take care of him methinks! It's official btw, our first party will on Valentine's Day, February 14. If you'd like to come up and visit, or are on campus and would like to come let me know :)

CNN.com - Dennis Miller: '9-11 changed me' - Jan. 26, 2004: "The United States right now is simultaneously the world's most loved, hated, feared and admired nation, he said.
'In short,' he said, 'we're Frank Sinatra.' "

So I got sad today thinking about my old dog Buttons. That may sound like a girly name to you, but he was the coolest pet I ever had, and really the only one that really was mine. We had a Siamese cat, Suki, when I was really young-we're talking like 1-3 years old. She lived to be something like 19 years old. Used to guard my crib by sleeping in it lol, and turn off lightswitches. Funny cat that, I remember some things about her vaguely and some things very clearly. But Buttons was the first pet I had to call my very own. He was such an awesome dog too. He was a Shih Tzu, and his named was because of the fact that his nose looked like a black button. Rather large for his breed, he was over 20 lbs when most Shih Tzus are under, he died in 1997, during the first few weeks of November. He held out for my Halloween party that year and I've got some pictures of him with us. His leashes still hang in the garage on the peg board, and I've got his collar, hat, and comb upstairs. I still have his dog tags too. That had to be one of the worst weeks of my life. Even when my grandmother died about 3 or 4 years earlier, it was a lot easier to bear when he was around and could tell I was upset and that something wasn't right.

I often remember the little things like how he used to get really hyper sometimes and we'd have this kind of "stand-off" where I'd pat the floor with both hands and then he'd do the same with his paws, huff a bit and then go bolting throughout the entire first floor. He'd run a huge lap through the kitchen, dining room, and then skitter on the hallway tiles as he tried to turn around, and then he did it again like 10x lol.

Eventually he began to have this horrible cough, and when he tried these things and couldn't keep them up it pained me to watch. He had too big a heart, literally, and it made it hard for him to breathe when it was doing a lot of work. After what must of been the worst football practice of my life, I called my father to pick me up, and he sounded very distraught on the phone. I knew something wasn't right but he wouldn't tell me then. He waited until I was driving us home and were on our block, not the most opportune time lol, I would have rather not been doing something dangerous at the time! Now that I look back on that I can't imagine how hard that must have been for him to break to me. I'm really starting to see things through the eyes of a father lately. My father is very rarely sad or grief stricken. I can remember maybe 3 or 4 times in my lifetime I've seen him so. But Buttons' death definitely rattled him. He doesn't like to go to the pet store with my mother because it brings back old memories I think. I visited one over break with Jesse, Tara, and Amar on our way back from an expo show. There was only one Shih Tzu there, but that really brought back a lot of memories, like a floodgate ripping open. I really miss that dog and I still get misty eyed when I think about him for more than 3 seconds. That was such a horrible time, and I've not thought about it in a long time. I was horrible when I was at home, because everything reminds you of your pet right after he dies. It could be the floor and you'd just randomly remark he used to sit there. Sometimes the worst was coming home from school and not seeing him sitting at the door or barking his head off when he saw me coming (he'd think everyone was an intruder until he realized who you were lol). I'd go out to the movies, go over a friend's house, and I'd be fine, but the second I was coming down my road my throat would get all tight again. I love dogs too, and I'm glad my sister got one, even if Rocky is an annoying Pomeranian with 1/100th the attention span of a serious ADD afflicted person. There is something calming about the prescence of an animal, and I can't wait until I get a dog one day. It'd be hard to right after college of course, and it limits your options travelwise and workwise. I'm trying to convince my parents to get another Shih Tzu light enough that they can bring with them to and from Fl. I think they need the company. Maybe he'll slow the now visible aging that's hitting my father mentally, or calm my mother's anxiety. Maybe another dog might make things not seem so lonely sometimes.

Maybe I just miss my friend...

Yet time does heal all wounds, and now when I think of him I smile and say to myself "He was a good dog," granting him the highest praise his species can earn.

Comments: worst class i have taken all semester. since its required you have to take it so try and get anyone except for gorham. he is a ridiculously hard grader and a lame kissass to the school. the lectures are boring enough to make me contemplate stabbing my pen through my eye in the middle of class. its a hard class, dont let anyone fool you, altough you may be able to pull of a C without too much effort. oh and you can tell the kids that want to be broadcast, theyre the ones that CONSTANTLY think they have something to say and it's usually not all that great. avoid this class and gorham like the plague.

Professor: Rozensweig
Comments: This is all I should have to say: Professor Rozensweig had scheduled a test for Tuesday, September 11, 2001 for his class at 1pm. I was one of the many people who was worried about the safety of my family (in both DC and NYC) and so I obviously did not go to class to take my test that day. Well, Professor Rozensweig told all of us who missed class that day that that could be the ONE test that we dropped for the entire semester. Honestly, that should tell you what kind of man he is and what kind of class this was. WORST CLASS and WORST PROFESSOR EVER.

Comments: For everyone who has nothing but praise for this dick-- let me tell you about the final.... We were not suppose to have this prewritten, so those of us who followed that, needed the full two hours for the test... At 8:55, twenty minutes before the end of the test, he tells us we have five minutes... Then, in a huge rush to leave, the ass actually takes off without a kids test, a full fifteen minutes ahead of schedule... Yeah, hes a great teacher who cuts off designated test time and has more important things to do then take a kid's test... He sucks as a teacher and heaven forbid he ever finish a sentence before stuttering a new one...

Comments: This class was horrible. For the amount of pain involved, you're much better off just trying an alternative method to learning chemistry, like doing every drug known to mankind and hope that you hallucinate up some chemistry info. Hell, you're better off trying to learn chemistry through vewdoo; you won't learn much about chemistry, but maybe you'll learn enough about vewdoo to put this naive son of a bitch thorugh as much pain as you would experience sitting through one of his lectures. To sum up, if you're serious about learning chemistry and you end up in this guy's class, save yourself a semester of agony and drop out to run a crystal meth lab...you'll get real-world experience and you'll deal with more friendly people than this assclown.

Ok go check that out. It's funny as all hell. I know I haven't blogged much lately but things have been super busy over break. A lot has happened, and there's a lot still going on. Suffice for now that I'm back at Syracuse, classes started today, (except for me hahaha!), and I'll try to update whilst at work like I usually did. Good luck to everyone in their first week of senior year hell. Unless your final semester of senior year is easy, then forget you. No luck to you I take it back.

Dear Fellas,

I can't believe how fast things move on the outside. I saw an automobile once when I was a kid. Now they're everywhere. The world went and got itself in a big damn hurry. The parole board got me into this halfway house called the Brewer, and a job bagging groceries at the Foodway. It's hard work, and I try to keep up, but my hands hurt most of the time.

I don't think the store manager likes me very much. Sometimes after work I go to the park and feed the birds. I keep thinking Jake might show up and say hello, but he never does. I hope wherever he is, he's doing okay and making new friends.

I have trouble sleeping at night. I have bad dreams, like I'm falling. I wake up scared. Sometimes it takes me a while to remember where I am. Maybe I should get me a gun and rob the Foodway, so they'd send me home. I could shoot the manager while I was at it, sort of like a bonus.

But I guess I'm too old for that sort of nonsense anymore. I don't like it here. I'm tired of being afraid all the time. I've decided not to stay. I doubt they'll kick up any fuss. Not for an old crook like me.

PS, Tell Haywood I'm sorry I put a kinfe to his throat. No hard deelings.

The Shawshank Redemption is like dying and being born again, every time I watch it. It doesn't matter that I must have seen this movie over 100 times. From the amazing score, to the powerful messages embedded within, I'm deeply moved everytime I see it. The above passage is definitely the most sad in the movie, and I'm always moved by it. It's an amazing and uplifting movie. I reccomend buying it, THEN watching it. That way you will always own such an amazing film.

It's been a rough couple of weeks alright. Since getting back I've had tons of work to finish up after the break. It all went well without a hitch, and upon checking my grades today in a hopeful chancing moment, I found my first A of the semester. It's kind of sad that Megan's leaving tommorrow, who knows if I'll ever see her again. I hope so, since after returning to CA, and her London visit, she's going to move to NYC, a stone's throw away from home for me. As well Lauren will be graduating and leaving as well. I will miss her something terrible. I always felt like I could relate to her well and I've always enjoyed her company. Such is life-many meetings and many partings.

It's been snowing for about 2 days straight now. Thanks Syracuse for the dump on our heads. It's like not only are we supposed to be grateful, but say thanks for the hat too :P The snow drifts are making things annoying. I'll have to clean my car off tommorrow at some point. It looks like a big cannoli. One more final to go tommorrow, and then if I get motivated maybe make some additions to my website, due at 5pm. Hopefully leaving Tuesday, rather definitely leaving Tuesday, no matter how long it takes to get home. I must be home for the 17th. The Return Of The King is 2 days away! I cannot wait for this movie. I cannot wait to see my family. I cannot wait for Christmas. One of the happiest and heart-fulfilling times of the year is almost upon me. Yet time seems to stretch out like a road, traversable yet to no result. It will be good to get home; This semester has been taxing on the soul.

Well been awhile since my last update. Thanksgiving break was great. It was so wonderful to see my family and relatives. I really missed them this semester, and they missed me as well. It's really rough to be away from my niece and nephew that long because I feel like they're such an integral part of my life and vice versa. It was my nephew's birthday a week ago, so we celebrated that over Thanksgiving as well.

Got home around 6 on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and hung around for a bit. Wednesday was a bunch of errands and chores and then a trip to the New Brunswick bars with the crew. Thanksgiving itself was pretty good. The whole family was there, the food was good, and good times were had :) Friday was flu-shot day which always sucks because I seem to alwasy get some bad reaction from them. I helped put up the Christmas tree and tried to go see Matrix Revolutions again with my father. Black Friday. Movies. Bad combo. Needless to say it was sold out. Hopefully it'll still be in theaters in 2 weeks when I get home. I just recently started seeing films again with my Dad, something we haven't done together in a long time. I feel like it's a way of bringing us closer in a sense; doing things together again. He's getting pretty old and there's not much I CAN do with him anymore, at least physically. Saturday I hung around most of the day and opted not to go out that night 'cause I was feeling very tired. Watched the Ice Skating World vs. America with Mom. We used to always watch those together. Brian Boitano kicked some ass too. And Oksana Baiul...I still want to jump her.

The trip back to 'Cuse was pretty quick and uneventful. God bless the iPod. 5000 songs to keep me company on the way back. They sure make the trip fly by. The trip to and from school is cool like that too, in that it's the longest car ride I usually have in any given year. A good chance to listen to music when my car rides are normally less than 10 minutes. I essentially did no work over break whatsoever. I started on my IST 355 paper and got about a page and a half lol. Oh well, three papers due this week, then it's just time to gear up for finals. And of course my final website project is due. ::sigh:: We'll see how that turns out. I already know I'm going to have a good deal of all-nighters regarding that little ditty.

I've also had this score from a film stuck in my head since last night. Watching Road To Perdition spurred it on, and I can't place where it's from. The theme is getting clearer and clearer though, and always the film or source is just beyond mind's reach. I'll eventually crack it...hopefully before it bugs me too much.

16 days until Return Of The King!
