Ok remember when Cybersex was just in a chatroom? Looks like some weirdos have started to do this via World of Warcraft, the Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) Read this...cracked me up.

Best line: "Speaking of indecency...I wasn't aware that cyber-@(#*@ing in the Tram was considered "roleplaying. Perhaps it's just me."

LOL

The Retropolitan rbought it to my attention that the link didn't go through for this initial post. For your viewing pleasure...here's the link.

Hooray! Video games are not only healthy, but also make you a better doctor. Studies carried out at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York show that surgeons that gamed were better than doctors that didn’t.

“Then when we looked at whether you were a current video gamer, we found that if you played video games currently, you were over 30 percent better, faster, and created fewer errors than someone who did not play video games at all.”

I've just witnessed the destruction of the DataSync application CCP. It is no more. It has ceased to be. It is a former CCP! WOOOO!

Live rollout began yesterday morning and withstanding the one huge problem we had today, everything is running smoothly. You sense your life has become easier somehow :P

FFO is just about done. Thank God. The past 4 weeks have been so trying. I'm so ready for the week to be over. It seems like in 5 half a year the commute has gotten even worse on 287. Such are the trials of a corporate job...

Finished Six Feet Under Season 5 last night. Amazing ending. The whole ending sequence clocked in at like 8 minutes I think. I'll have to double check. I want to extract that portion of the 90 min finale.

"There was a lot of resistance in the (writers') room to Nate dying," he recalls. "Everybody was like, 'It just feels so sad.' I said, 'Great, give me something else, pitch something else and if we find something that works better, I'll do it.' But the show is about death and its place in our lives and Nate especially is a character whose overall arc has been inching toward full acceptance of his own mortality and what is the final step of one's mortality? It's death. Nothing else clicked the way that did."

Sia - Breathe Me

Help, I have done it again
I have been here many times before
Hurt myself again today
And, the worst part is there's no-one else to blame

Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me
I am small
I'm needy
Warm me up
And breathe me

Ouch I have lost myself again
Lost myself and I am nowhere to be found,
Yeah I think that I might break
I've lost myself again and I feel unsafe

Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me
I am small
I'm needy
Warm me up
And breathe me

Regular, unleaded and supreme, I can't afford my gasoline.
So not even 24 hours after they announced their "Try Before You Buy" deal, Apple has pulled said deal for the Mac Mini. Wow way to go Apple...you HAD a good idea, too bad you half-assed implemented it.

So I saw Hall and Oates on Tuesday night with Matt and Jess. Awesomeness. They give an awesome concert...too bad they didn't play my favorite song (which happens to be their biggest hit ever), Out Of Touch. Oh well...I still love you Darryl and John.

Princteon Review details of SU:

Undergraduates have many different opinions about what the typical student at Syracuse is like. Many students say that the most visible group "comes from a lot of money and enjoys partying." Others note a seemingly disproportionate number of Long Islanders and "Soprano country" kids. But the numbers don't lie; Syracuse has strong diversity numbers, both ethnic and geographic. Although inherent diversity exists, students note that, "no one communicates outside their own group." The university tries to facilitate interaction, however, with "good programs for sexual orientation, gender, and racial equality." A senior comments, "There seems to be a high level of openness and no real pressure to conform to any popular standard." One student says, "I lived on a floor with hippies, frat guys, and architecture students, and it was still calm." Another student adds, "We're a melting pot of aspiring youth stuck in winter. We're like, 'Why not just all accept each other?'"

LOL I remember living on a floor with hippies, "Stumpies," Architecture, Comm, Artists, Drama students, rich bitches, Preppy guys, and everything else. SU sure was pretty damn diverse.

Brion may be a level 57 level Night Elf Hunter in World of Warcraft, but he’s not too elite to be pwned by his mother, especially when she’s two levels higher.

About 3:30 a.m. Monday, Brion snuck onto the WoW forums past his bedtime to post a little tactics. Unfortunately, his mom, a level 59 Human priest, reads the forums too.

****

Pardon me for hijacking the thread, here..

But, Brion - if you don’t want your mother to know you were up and on the computer at 3:29 in the morning - DON’T post on a forum that she reads.

Busted.
Grounded.

****

About four hours after dishing out some major public pwnage on her son, Frayda hopped back on to announce his punishment.

****

Yeah, you won’t be seeing Brion at Alterac Valley tonight…

I’m going to make him watch a movie with me instead. I’m thinking a real chick flick - Steel Magnolias or Moulin Rouge. :)

****

Hey, I love Moulon Rouge!

5:30 on a Friday night and I'm still at work...major suckiness. I've been in at 7 am for 2 weeks now, and out at 5:30 at the earliest and 8pm at the latest. Not my idea of fun at all. FFO sucks.

Tuesday, August 09, 2005

So work is complete HELL this week. FFO rollout is in full steam and I'm still solely in charge of Operations. Peter + Operations + Only Peter On Operations = Nightmare. Easy math! I swear the only thing that has kept me going the past 2 days is Starbuck's Breakfast Blend. Oh thank you Ms. Starbucks your hopping me up on caffeine has helped immensely. At least the days seem to go by faster. It's 11:20 already....!

Watched Team America last night...Arrec Barrwin hahaha. Hopefully I'll get the chance to check out The Jacket tonight. 99.7% done with the Da Vinci code. Jess was really sick last night so I waited up to make sure she was alright. So it seems like after all this time of people not going their seperate ways some are starting to. But the funny thing is they aren't REALLY. I'll explain...my group of friends is pretty unique in that a LARGE number of us are still friends this long after high school. I've known some of my friends as far back as preschool. Usually during college you fall away from a lot of your friends. If not when you graduate and begin to get jobs and move you lose touch. This still hasn't happened a year after graduation. The girls who are teachers are still kind of local. Those few who are either still in school or in law school aren't that far. Jesse is moving to Baltimore for 6-9 months for his job at Hess but it's temporary, and Baltimore isn't that far... Amar is going to Austrailia for September but will be back beginning of October. Kevin's family moved but they moved 10 minutes away...so he's actually closer to my office than my house lol. Michelle's moving in with her bf Drew, to Edison which is cool. I live alone 3/4 of the year when the 'rents are down in Florida so any extra company is always welcome. It's really fortunate that so many friends have kept close touch. It's something I really don't see very often. And I still keep in touch with a good deal of college friends. I hope for the most part that never changes :)

Met a new friend in the Bridgewater area-Beth. She seems super cool and I can't wait for Jess and I to hang out with her and her bf at some point. Yay for making new friends :P

Back to work...St. Peter don't ya call me cuz I can't go...I owe my soul to the company store...

RIP Peter Jennings. I will miss you. All I've got left now is Barbara Walters...::sniffle::

So FFO started yesterday. If you don't know what FFO is, you and I haven't discussed anything going on with my company at all in the past half a year. It's a huge project dubbed the "Field Force Organization" project. Let's suffice to say it is going to make my August month HELL. I'm technically 24/7 on call and solely in charge of IntelliSync Operations. Well this is going to be an interesting month. 6-month review just around the corner :P

New iPod Midi!

Weekend is ALMOST here. Thank god....it's been a LONG week and FFO rollout begins SUNDAY! AHHHHHHHHH! I'm preparing for my August to be a world of HELL. Heading out to LI to go to Stacey's "Sayonara Stacey" BBQ/party. Andrew's BBQ tonight. Lots of BBQs lately lol. Everyone have a rockin' sockin' robots weekend :)

How To Cancel AOL

I just cancelled my AOL account in ten minutes. You should be proud of me.

Call 800 827-6364. Say: “Cancellation.” You’ll need answer to your security question. Voice recognition not bad.

Then a live attendant. They ask why you’re cancelling the service. Just repeat: I didn’t like it. I didn’t like it. Don’t be any more specific, or they’ll go off into a tree.

Then they’ll ask, are you planning to go on highspeed? Do you want high-speed?

No. No. No. No thank you. No thank you. Just repeat. You’ll have to do this about five times. Amazing. Like talking to an automated attendant who can’t understand what you’re saying.

Don’t explain anything, or it just takes longer.
1Up’s Jane Pinckard recently interviewed famed developer and braggart Peter Molyneux about his future plans. The man behind Fable mentioned that he still plans to develop three more Black & White titles. Each game will be set a thousand year’s apart in the franchise’ history with number five taking place in modern time. Now I love Molyneux's games...I started playing Populous when I was like 5...but judging by Molyneux’s past experience at predicting the details of his own games, there will be one more B&W and it will take place about two years after number two and won’t be released until 2050.

The always delusional Mariah Carey has placed the blame of Glitter failing miserably on September 11.

“I released it around September 11, 2001,” the singer told Swiss newspaper Sonntags Zeitung as translated on fan site MariahDaily. “The talk shows needed something to distract from 9/11. I became a punching bag. I was so successful that they tore me down because my album was at number 2 instead of number 1. The media was laughing at me and attacked me.” Additionally, Mariah also said that the movie was just too cutting-edge for it’s own good. “‘Glitter’ was ahead of its time,” she explained. “Today it’s ‘in’ to make 80’s music.”

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Get the fruit it's more points!
I'm NOT GONNA GET THE FRUIT! THERE'S A GHOST RIGHT THERE!
"Game-modder rips into anti-modder US politicos
A game-modder has published a stirring broadside about the public outcry over the pornographic sequences that could be viewed in Grand Theft Auto: San Adreas using the Hot Coffee mod. From the title ("The Founding Fathers roll over in their graves as a new witch-hunt against the First Amendment is launched") on, it's a rip-snortin' read:

The primary difference between the retail version of the game and that of the modded version is that the above content has simply been rearranged and intensified by the consumers. By using the logic that this content was illegally "hidden", one could just as easily claim that any R rated movie has covertly crossed the limits of decency because the end-user could very well pause their DVD player on a scene containing nudity, thus exceeding the length of such scenes by which the MPAA decides whether a film is to be classified as R or NC-17. The same could be said of even a PG-13 rated movie which contains brief nudity.

Perhaps what is most absurd about the accusations against both Rockstar Games and the gaming industry, is that those making the allegations seem to have no idea how the technology they're condemning works. Had they done even a moment's worth of research, they would discover that the online mod community for GTA:SA (and many other PC games) is not only capable of recycling various fragments of game code and art to create new scenes for the game, but we do it all the time. If Senator Hillary Clinton, Leeland Yee, Dr. David Walsh, et al, were to give even a cursory glance at the websites which published the Hot Coffee mod, they would see that it is but one of thousands of modifications made by users which create new game play scenarios using the existing assets. Given the very nature of the interactive digital medium, an industrious "modder" could within minutes create things far "worse" than Hot Coffee if they so desired simply by swapping a few items and lines of code about. Then, on top of just shifting around pre-existing assets, it is also quite easy and common for players to create entirely new content from scratch."
"I wish they were wearing more clothes," says Teich, a lifelong game enthusiast who now helps create games. Why, she asks, must women in video games always look like Las Vegas show girls?"

Tara Teichm, a video game designer, here is complaining about the look of women in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Why must they look like Las Vegas Showgirls? Well...San Andreas DOES take place 3/4 of the time in "Las Venturas," Rockstar's version of Las Vegas lol. Don't like the game? Don't play it. While there has been an increase of female gamers in recent years, more young males play then females, hence the target demographic. I find it funny how certain games are becoming scapegoats however for any reason feasible!

Excellent weekend! Niece and nephew came up on Friday night and we went to Fuddrucker's, hit up miniature golf, (where my nephew proceeded to hole in one on the very first hole and my niece's first hit was a chip into the [Tiger] woods. I hole in one'd 2 and so did Jess! We watched the Sandlot after since the kids had never seen it. Saturday we got some Pitch 'n Putt in finally. Not one of my better days but hey that's golf. Saturday night was off to Rebecca and Amy's in PA for an impromptu "our parents are away" party. Fun times :)

Family Guy episode last night was great and I'm excited the new season starts so soon-September 11! Hope they don't do any 9/11 themed jokes...I'm surprised the censors are letting as much as they are in the recent eps. Another workweek here and another workweek I'll beat down as we march closer and closer to the FFO rollout which has consumed my weekdays for the past 5 months.

And now some amusing links to end on an up-note :D

Also the ESRB has pulled their Mature rating for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Oh boy here we go.

"The ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board) notified us late this afternoon Eastern Time that they have revoked the “Mature” rating previously issued Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas following an extensive investigation.

Our members intend to immediately cease all sales of the game until existing inventory can either be re-stickered with an AO (Adults Only) rating, or exchanged for new versions of the game that has the hidden content removed and the original M (Mature 17+) rating intact.

Though not a policy, IEMA members generally do not carry AO-rated games any differently than we do not carry X-rated videos or DVDs, thus it is likely that our members will be removing all copies of the current version and re-stocking with the updated version."

Not being able to sell until a licensed "fixed" version comes out is going to hurt Rockstar. This whole fiasco is way gay.

Yo, bitches. K-Fizzle here.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I just snuck out of the house to pick up some shit at the mini-mart while Whatshername is home sticking Oreos in our new deep-fryer. [Dude, that's not a eupha...eupharm...something clean you say when you mean something dirty. Seriously, it's like she's sticking something into that deep fryer all damn day long. Something about craving something and batter being good for the baby? Whatever. I don't know. All I know is how good my baby batter is. AW YEAHS, BITCHES, I SAID IT. Heh. Heh. Dude, after my record drops I am totally going to get a gig at the Stand-Up Club or whatever that place Pauly Shore runs is called, because I TOTALLY CRACK MY SHIT UP.]

Yeah, anyway, I just ran out to get some water and some Cheetos and some beef jerky and some ice cream sandwiches and a couple of Twinkies and then I had to run by my dealer's house because B said she didn't want him to deliver my shit anymore because he was "a bad influence on the baby," or some shit, and then I was like, (a) the baby isn't even OUT yet, (2) it's not like he was a bad influence on all those other kids I have, I'm pretty sure, but then she said some BULLSHIT about not paying for it anymore and then, dude, I swear to God, she reached for my hand and TRIED TO PUT IT IN THE DEEP FRYER and, man, HORMONES, dude, dial it DOWN. So I ran out to give her some time to chill. She has been seriously so crabby ever since she caught me going through the safe.

Anyway, I'm trying and shit. I feel like I should at least try and stick it out for the kid, for a little while. And because she's been whining about my shoes for like the last SIX MONTHS, like, I will tie my shoes if I FEEL LIKE IT, bitch, I finally decided to shut her up and got a new pair. Check it:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Stylish AND functional, right? I love how it makes it look like I've got camel toe ON MY FEET. Heh. God, that's weird. It's like I'm a woman from the ankle down. Well, two women. Who have five legs inside their pants....well, three legs in one pant leg and two in....because of my actual toes...shit, now my head hurts. Analogies or whatever are fucking hard. But look how clean my socks are! Right out of the plastic bag, bitches. Ain't nothing too good for me now. As long as I can find my dealer's house and Her Majesty don't stick the manpris in the deep fryer, nothing can touch me, you know?

Peace izzle,

K-Fed

Even though they can be liberal bastards, one in awhile CNN has a story that has a real gem or two quote-wise.

"Basically, they trashed our show," said Jones, who read a script of the Warner Brothers movie, which is scheduled to be released next month. "It's one thing to do whatever movie they want to do, but to take a classic family show and do that is like taking 'I Love Lucy' and making her a crackhead or something."

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas...SEX SCANDAL!

As if it was immune to any more scrutiny...GTA: SA has been found to include coding for a "sex game" sequence involved with the girls Carl Johnson dates in the game. Politicians are getting all uppity but the actual footage is not accessible ANYWHERE in the game. It was simply some coding and scripts that were left in the program build and accessed by hackers. A patch is now out for this for PC players to unlock this.

"A few months ago, Barton Waterduck discovered a few sections of unused code in the PS2 version of San An for the girlfriend "missions". With a bit of memory hacking and such, he discovered these removed portions of mission scripting were to not only put the camera inside the girlfriends' house when you stop in for "coffee", but also to make a little mini-game of it. Now, with the magic of user-editable files on the PC, PatrickW was able to unlock the uncensored "coffee" segments for all to play with."

"It does work. Surprisingly however, it's pretty boring. The Sexual encounters become a rhythm based mini-game where you try to improve the "excitement" level of your lady friend. Positions can be changed with the left mouse button, and there's a whopping total of 3."

So what does this mean? Rockstar is going to take tons more abuse from parents who shouldn't have even been letting their children play this game in the first place due to violence. There was a reason there was an "M" for Mature on the box...this isn't a kiddie game.

Random comments on these articles:

"I was going to say that maybe the idea of a game where the main character had sex with a naked girl with his blue jeans on and fastened took away from the realism and
was untrue to his character. That's just me though."

"Brothers don't dry hump. Brothers poundthatshit."

"If you look hard enough, there is pornography everywhere. I've seen kids playing with barbie dolls with no clothes, does this mean that Toys R Us has an obligation to place a sexual warning on each display?"

The funny thing is you can have sex in The Sims 2...they just call it WooHoo and you don't really see anything. Personally I don't think they should be held accountable for something they left in the coding but is not accessible anywhere in the game without modifying the code, which I believe is a violation of the EULA laws/contract.

This was one of my favorite books when I was little. It followed a sheep who couldn't sleep. He went out adventuring and the things he found on each page were in increasing number. (He saw 8 apples, he cooked 9 peas). What was your favorite book when you were little?

I think Honda’s Asimo needs to call a headhunter. While some of his buds are working as surgeons, or exploring their artistic sides as dancers, what’s “the world’s most advanced humanoid walking robot” doing? Looks like he’s working as a crossing guard. Honda has produced a video for educators in which Asimo teaches kids the safe way to cross streets. While we certainly think that’s admirable, we can’t help but worry that Honda is stifling Asimo’s career ambitions. Still I guess it beats Asimo’s other recent gig: clowning for the kids at Disneyland.

The road between Oregon's Willamette Valley, where Portland sits, and the Pacific coast is known for recreation, wineries and beauty.

This weekend, it will also be known for slow traffic, the group said in a study titled "Are We There Yet?"

Interstate 64 in the Tidewater region of southeastern Virginia is second on the group's list of vacation bottlenecks, followed by the Maryland-Delaware shore, Branson, Missouri, and North Carolina's Outer Banks.

Rounding out the Top 10 are Cape Cod, the Jersey Shore, California's Napa Valley, the Amish country of Pennsylvania and the Catskill Mountains in New York.

"Part of slowing down is about relaxing," said Greg Cohen, president of the group. "But slowing down because you're stuck in traffic is very frustrating."

An estimated 33.9 million people are expected to travel by motor vehicle during the holiday weekend, according to AAA.

Whew I hope we don't run into too many of them going to Baltimore :P

So Paul Winchell the voice of Tigger died in his sleep this past Friday. John Fiedler also passed away this morning. He was the voice of Piglet. Creepy eh?
Very interesting story about a woman who set the man who raped her daughter on fire when he was released from prison. Interesting quote from a commentator regarding the legal system: "Don't be silly. The purpose of the legal system isn't to sanction vengeance; it's to deter and reform." Thought provoking eh?

646MB later I've gotten 40 N64 games. And an amazing emulator (Project 64) that runs all of them right from your PC. I couldn't resist and I immediately loaded The New Tetris up just to see if it would work....

....Amazing. That familiar menu music started playing. The New Tetris was the one game I never sold back when I booted my N64 to upgrade to GameCube 3 years ago. I have sorely missed it. I still own the cartridge in case I ever got an N64 again or wanted to borrow my nephew's (not a bad idea actually). The multiplayer was amazing, single player engrossing and addictive. I WAS the TetrisMaster. The world of emulation rocks my socks off. All the old hits are here...
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Goldeneye
Banjo Kazooie & Banjo Tooie
Gauntlet Legends
Jet Force Gemini
Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time & Majora's Mask
Paper Mario
Perfect Dark
Mario Part 1, 2 & 3
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
and Worms Armageddon.

Ahhhh :) Weekend here I come!
I always find it amusing how you can see the leaps in technology just by viewing the video game industry. We went from:
Pong/Pitfall to
Mario/Zelda to
Sonic/Tails (lol sorry had to) to
Ocarina Of Time/Goldeneye to
Halo 1 & 2/Pikim/Vice City.

Looking at the specs of the video game consoles has always interested me.

Playstation 2
Processor: 128-bit "Emotion Engine" clocked at 300 MHz
Media: Proprietary 4.7-GB DVD and original PlayStation CDs

GameCube
Processor: "Gekko" IBM Power PC microprocessor clocked at 485 MHz
Media: Proprietary 1.5-GB optical disc

XBox
Processor: Modified Intel Pentium III clocked at 733 MHz
Media: 8-GB built-in hard drive & proprietary 4.7-GB DVD

Compare this to consoles of yesteryear.

It's also interesting to see when the consoles had leapt ahead 2 generations that the once-seemingly powerful consoles of yesteryear were now handhold consoles! Basically the PSP is a mix between the PS1 and PS2 systems. The Advance/Advance SP/DS are all souped up NES/SNES systems. Will XBox bring their own to the scene? I'm sure Gates has that well under wraps.

Gameboy Advance SP
Processor: 32-Bit RISC with embedded memory
Media: GB/GBA/GBASP cartridges

Nintendo DS
Processor: ARM9 and one ARM7 33Mhz processors
Media: 1 DS slot, 1 Game Boy Advance / SP slot
802.11b wireless

PlaystationPortable (PSP)
Processor: PSP CPU clocked at 333MHz
Media: UMD Drive (Read only) 1.8GB
802.11b wireless

You're a movie whore if you have seen over 85!!

How many did Pete see?: Roughly 164. I'll recount later to make sure I didn't botch it up. As if we all knew I wasn't the movie master :P
"In a ridiculous publicity stunt, the first two innings of a minor league baseball game between the Kansas City T-Bones and the Schaumburg Flyers will be played 'virtually' -- two video gamers will play MVP Baseball 2005 on an Xbox while the game is broadcast over the video screen and play-by-play is called by the announcers. When the real teams take the field in the third inning, they'll start where the virtual game left off."
3 Boys Missing in NJ

"The place from which they disappeared is a few doors from a school and in a neighborhood that is safer than most in Camden, which last fall was ranked most dangerous in the United States in a reference book that compares crime statistics."

Well at least we win in something?

It would be so cool if you could hook old Ted up to your PC via USB cable and it would also be cool if he would stop following me home even after all these years. He just sits outside and stares. So I saw something new down in the cafeteria this morning. No sooner did Coke sweetened with Splenda arrive then a new Coca-Cola product is on the market: Coca-Cola zero. Coke Zero is basically a different-tasting Coke than other Diet Coke. The drink will be sweetened partly with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium. Aspartame is a key ingredient in Diet Coke, but a spokesman for the Atlanta-based company said Coca-Cola Zero will "have a unique taste." Sitting here sipping it, it tastes like regular coke without all the sugar. Not bad and a better calorie option as opposed to C2 coke which I did like but scoffed at 12g of sugar still with only 45 calories. If the sugar had been cut even more I'd have been satisfied.

Here's the latest count on how many mp3's I've got...I think I'll agree finally that I may have too much music.

Rough estimate of mp3s/mp4s/mp2s: 15,949 at 66.74 GB of disk space.

Will that stop me?

Nope.

The first rule of Fight Club is "You do not talk about Fight Club."

The second rule of Fight Club is "You do NOT talk about Fight Club."

Someone yells stop, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over.

Only two guys to a fight.

One fight at a time, fellas.

No shirt, no shoes.

Fights will go on as long as they have to.

If this is your first night at Fight Club...you have to fight.

Oh the entertainment world is a circus. My circus.
So I text message all the time...and this new technology service (free of charge soon enough) sounds REALLY cool. Imagine seeing a random email or # to text to when you're out and about, and when you do get info or free stuff? Can't wait to see if this hits the light of day.

Great weekend. Went down to see my baby Friday night. Shore traffic is definitely startign to be a bitch again so you know it's summer in full swing once more! Played 9 holes o golfo at a Nazi 9-hole course... I really want to play again tonight. Work is SO busy this week. I've just taken over 3 more queues for apps here and people are going on vacation left and right. It's going to be an interesting summer...
